Introduction |
 |
|
The Grove offers a wide range of services and facilities in order to ensure the needs
of our residents are catered for.
|
|
Listed below is a summary of the services we offer. However, every effort is made to
accommodate any special requirements a resident may have and we encourage our residents,
and their relatives, to approach us whenever these needs crop up:
|
|
|
 |
Care Plans |
|
To ensure the level of care offered to our residents meets their every need, a care plan is devised.
A comprehensive assessment of new residents forms the basis of structured individual
care plan that details, not just the residents daily needs but, sets out any active treatment
and rehabilitation the resident may require.
|
|
Once in place, the care plan is regularly reviewed to ensure the resident is responding well
to its recommendations and to update it to reflect any changes in the resident's status or
care requirements. Any amendments to the plan are authorised by a senior carer and certain
amendments require the authorisation of the resident's GP.
|
|
Family and friends are encouraged to participate in the resident's daily routine, as
far as is practicable, and are invited to formal monthly reviews. Residents and their
relatives are always welcome to chat with a member of the care team, should they have
any concerns or comments.
|
The care plan is reviewed at three levels:
Daily, on a shift basis. At staff shift changeover the
resident's daily care notes are passed on and discussed. Any changes in the
resident's response or activity pattern can be fed into the care plan.
At the end of the four week settling-in period.
Thereafter, at the monthly care plan review.

incorporate our resident's favourite dishes and blend these with
healthy eating options. Special diets are catered for.

Outings and Events |
The Grove organises regular outings and events to entertain its residents. Examples include:
a drive around the countryside
visits to a garden centre
visits to local pantomines or plays
arranging for singers and entertainers to visit The Grove
carol evenings with the local brownie pack
summer and Christmas parties, where residents may invite their family and friends.

 |
Telephone |
To provide the maximum possible flexibility, The Grove offers two telephone service
options. Residents may use the main phone line for incoming calls.
For a nominal fee residents may use this line for outgoing calls. To ensure privacy a portable
phone is made available to residents for use in their own room.
Alternatively, residents may wish to install a private line in their room. British
Telecom's standard charge will be made for this service.

 |
Religion (Worship/Attendance at Religious Services) |
|
The Grove appreciates, the importance, for some residents to attend religious services.
Church of England and Catholic clergy make frequent visits to the home to chat
with our residents and conduct services.
|
|
Should a resident prefer to attend a service outside of the home, we suggest they
try and arrange transport with family or friends. However, we understand this is
not always possible. If staffing levels permit, every attempt is made to provide transport
for residents wishing to attend a service or event.
|
|
We are happy to arrange and accommodate residents meeting with clergy of their
chosen denomination. In required, a private room is made available for the visit.
